Welcome.

My name is Bethany, and I am a Ph.D. student immersed in the enchanted world of early medieval literature from England and Ireland. For my dissertation, I find myself drawn to the imaginative worlds of medieval eschatology, especially the characters and myths with which medieval writers sought to speculate about the spiritual realm.

I studied philosophy at Oklahoma Baptist University before coming to the University of Arkansas to study English Literature. Someday I hope to become a writer and translator, bringing the fascinating worlds and stories of the early medieval word to other kindred spirits. In the meantime, I am creating this space with which to bring you along on my academic journey, where I will share the ideas and books and inspirations that are currently clamoring for attention in my mind. Occasionally I will share some of my artwork here as well. I intend for this space to be “study” of sorts, one that houses all of my diverse interests.

If you wish to come along, you can subscribe to my monthly newsletter, or you can find me on social media.

Baer and I would love to have you. Thank you for stopping by!
